Susan Goodwin

Susan works on a strategic level with arts and cultural organisations supporting the creative ambitions of arts and culture professionals to ensure quality cultural provision for children and young people across the West Midlands.

Susan led an arts organisation in the North West for some 17 years, producing public artwork with schools and communities. After completing an MA in Art and Design Education she moved to the Midlands in 2001, working first as Principal Arts Development Officer at Shropshire Council. In 2011 Susan began work as an Arts and Heritage Consultant for Cadw where she developed an Arts and Heritage Framework and supported the project management of the Cultural Olympiad programme in castles and ancient monuments across Wales. Susan also undertook an evaluation of the Cultural Olympiad Programme which led to recommendations for future development of arts and culture events across the Cadw estate.

Susan came to Arts Connect in 2013 where she developed a region wide Cultural Sector Development Programme supporting the careers of arts and culture engagement and participation professionals. As part of this work she developed a higher degree apprenticeship for arts and culture professionals at Wolverhampton Business School. Over 20 ambitious cultural leaders from across England are currently studying for MBA (Senior Leaders) Arts and Culture at the University of Wolverhampton.
